Squadra Networking Event

Last week, the second networking event of Squadra this year took place. In the Squadra office in Leerdam, a group of Squadrians, clients, and other people from the Squadra network gathered for and interesting afternoon program. After having a drink together in the office kitchen, the group went into one of the meeting rooms, for a plenary session. Starting off with a presentation by Guus van de Mond and Niek Schreurs telling the audience about some trends in digital marketing, especially focussed on the impact of Artificial Intelligence. A total of ten trends in digital marketing were touched upon, with an interesting view of the influence of Artificial Intelligence, and the effects this could have on the job of any marketeer. Later, Henry van de Ven, the CIO of Nutreco, introduced the audience to the field of the animal- and fish-feeding. Due to the continuously growing human population, solutions need to be found in order to make food production more efficient. In this field, there is a lot of progress to gain by digital transformation, and optimisation of the feeding processes. An example was given about a shrimp farm in which the death rate of the shrimps shrunk by fifty percent, by introducing a feeding system which responded to sounds that shrimps make when they are hungry.

After the plenary session, there was room for more networking during the walking dinner downstairs at Eetcafé de Knijp, a small restaurant located right beneath the Squadra office. In the sun everyone enjoyed the rest of the afternoon, with a drink and some food. All together, we look back at an interesting and successful event!

CIODAY 2019 – Get The Job Done!

Op 25 en 26 november is het weer tijd voor de CIODAY! Dit jaar staat de 15e editie op het programma, met als slogan ‘Get The Job Done’. De Beurs van Berlage is wederom de locatie voor dit jaarlijkse netwerk evenement. De voorbereidingen zijn inmiddels in volle gang, en ook Squadra zal dit jaar weer aanwezig zijn. Als kennispartner van ICT Media, zal Squadra onder andere een break-out sessie organiseren, en een booth hebben op het event. Nu op Emerce: Squadra start nieuwe unit, Data Science Specialists

Steeds meer organisaties realiseren zich dat ‘data-gedrevenheid’ de sleutel is tot een succesvolle digitale transformatie. Het toepassen van predictive analytics en artificial intelligence biedt enorme kansen voor het reduceren van operationele kosten, het stimuleren van verkopen en het realiseren van nieuwe diensten en businessmodellen. De hiervoor benodigde data science specialisten zijn echter schaars. Bovendien weten organisaties niet altijd op welke skills ze deze specialisten moeten selecteren. Naar aanleiding van vragen uit de markt heeft Squadra daarom besloten een nieuwe unit te starten. Sinds begin deze maand is Squadra Data Science Specialists actief.

Intensified collaboration with PLM guru Jos Voskuil

At Squadra sharing knowledge is an important item. In this context we have intensified the collaboration with PLM guru Jos Voskuil and we had a good substantive discussion last Friday about how PIM and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) reinforce each other as part of the digital transformation among our customers and prospects and how PLM helps clients in managing the ideation process for private label products.

Today’s marketers have more data available than ever but struggle to pull it together in a usable, centralized Customer 360 format. Customer Data Platform (CDP) technology offers the promise to solve this problem by offering easy-to-deploy systems resulting in data unification and sharing. But marketers, technologists and executives rightly wonder: can CDP really deliver on this promise?

On January 23, the Customer Data Platform Institute (CDPI) and Netherlands’ Squadra Group will host a marketing workshop intensive, “Making the Most of Customer Data Platforms,” to answer that question and provide a deep dive into this rapidly evolving martech sector, which is projected to exceed €200 million revenue in Europe by the start of the new year.

The Shopping Tomorrow expert group Customer Engagement visited ANWB

The Shopping Tomorrow expert group Customer Engagement, chaired by knowledge partner Squadra, was a guest at the ANWB for the 3rd meeting Customer Engagement. Interesting discussions on the topics Customer Insights and Customer Value Management. Sandy Zwanepol gave a very interesting presentation about the Bijenkorf. Frank de Wit (ANWB) offered the location and facilities.

The PIM expert group of Shopping Tomorrow visited Delihome

The PIM expert group of Shopping Tomorrow was at Delihome (a.o. brands like Jéwé, Bruynzeel, Lundia, Skantrae, CanDo) for a very interesting meeting, facilitated by knowledge partner Squadra. First the beautiful showroom and the product location were visited, followed by presentations of Bol.com, Dorel (Maxicosi, among others) and Intergamma on User Generated Product Content (UGC). Subsequently, the 20 different experts from very different companies discussed these topics extensively. Some conclusions: 1. UGC is given a very different form within the B2C than in the B2B. 2. If UGC is reused in multiple channels and if it can be traced back to 1 product, UGC should end up in a PIM. 3. Good reviews of products lead to substantially more sales and indirectly to a large pond of improvements to the products (services) themselves.

Squadra networking drink

Squadra networking drink with 2 interesting speakers: Arnold Nienhuis (DSM, PPG, KLM, a.o.) spoke about the essential role of Digital Transformation in Customer Centric Innovation. The Squadrians Eric Hellemans and Enno Kroesen gave an well-appreciated presentation on Process Mining, explaining how new Data Science tools can be used to visually identify bottlenecks in processes in a very fast and effective way, enabling organizations to realize process improvements.

The PIM and Customer Engagement expert groups presented their results during Shopping Today

The PIM and Customer Engagement expert groups, both chaired by Squadra, meet at De Fabrique in Utrecht in the context of Shopping Today 2018. Chairman Wim Griffioen gave an update on the three sub-themes that the PIM expert group is reviewing this year: Conversational Commerce, Product visualization and User Generated Content. Squadra Partner Guus van de Mond then demonstrated the first outcome of a voice directed wine selection. CE expertgroup chairman Roger Wegh of Squadra gave an update about the CE expert group in an overloaded room with a very attentive audience. Frank de Wit (ANWB) followed by explaining how you can achieve an optimal customer experience and connected customers.

Woningbelang Valkenswaard is one of the corporations that we have worked with within the past years, #SquadraMLC. By creating a predictive algorithm their services could be improved and moreover, the customer satisfaction could be increased as well!

PIM expert group session: Product Visualization and Virtual Reality

The second speaker Tjerk Boorsma from Dura Vermeer told us about the application of Virtual Reality linked to Building Information Modeling (BIM) in residential construction.
